PIZZA DOUGH

I never thought the day would come when I would share a pizza dough recipe! First, I hate working with yeast & second I always believed that pizza should never be made at home! But things change & so do I.

I have been working on this recipe for months; trying almost 70% of all the dough recipes I came across online & all the recipes I was given by my mother’s friends! So the below recipe is mainly bits & pieces from every recipe I tried.

My kids’ Friday breakfast is pancakes & tell you a secret, I ALWAYS ALWAYS hated that! I wake up, run to the kitchen, prepare the batter & spend not less than 20 minutes in front of a hot stove making stacks of pancakes! KILL ME!!

The day I came across DUTCH BABY recipe online was a dream come true! I simply threw the ingredients in the blender then baked the batter in the oven! Voila, DONE!

PUMPKIN FRENCH TOAST

It seems that this is the year of discovering new tastes & falling in love with them!

I hated pumpkin all my life whether sweet or savory; I just found it too bland for me. Ever since I started blogging, I noticed the hype that happens in the blog world around pumpkin season. Everybody & I mean everybody is posting pumpkin recipes all over the world! I felt the urge to give it a new try; it doesn’t make sense that all the world loves pumpkin except for me!

As I told you before, I am not a professional baker but serving my family a homemade cake every week is a must so I am always playing around in the kitchen :)

I was never a fan of frosted cakes (except for carrot cake of course), I always prefer old fashioned cakes that you enjoy with a cup of coffee without feeling so guilty & heavy! I have been trying to develop a honey cake recipe for almost 2 years but they always came out a total disaster.

ALL PURPOSE TOMATO BEETROOT MARINARA SAUCE

Before having kids, I never cared about cooking certain food at home; I always believed in the idea of “why cook this when it’s available in the supermarket?”.

But with all the health raised issues about most store bought items, I started to be more inclined towards cooking almost everything at home. It’s healthier, cheaper & definitely free from all those poisonous preservatives.

I love making marinara sauce with canned tomatoes; it comes out perfectly sweet & tangy; just spot on. Trying to use less canned ingredients, I tested cooking the marinara sauce with fresh tomatoes but it was a big flop!

CLASSICAL FRENCH TOAST

FullSizeRender

I know French toast seems like a regular recipe that anyone can prepare at home!

BUT NO. A BIG FAT NO!

Let me tell you my story with French toast.

I have been making French toast for ages; it’s just some milk & eggs beaten together with some flavorings! No need for a recipe, right?

Mine came out tasting nice but the texture always varied from a little dry to soggy although I made sure I never under or over soaked my toast so why the inconsistency in texture?
